Celebrating Birthdays with the Dueling Darlings!

It's March 15th and time for another duel with the Dueling Darling Divas and Dazzlers.  This month hostesses Donna for team Dazzlers and me for team Divas chose the theme "Birthdays".  I had a special reason for choosing this theme as some very special people in my life are celebrating milestone birthdays this month.   My Uncle Dick just celebrated his 90th birthday on Monday and my husband Pat will be celebrating his 80th birthday on March 26th.  Not only are these significant birthdays being celebrated this month but also the team leader for the Divas, our own Kelly Santi, will be celebrating a birthday on March 28th.  Here are some of the cards I've made from the kit I compiled for the Divas:
This card for my Uncle Dick was so much fun to make.  I used Splitcoaststamper Sketch SC687 for the design. And die cut the 90 and the circle.
The design on this card is from the Splitcoaststamper sketch SC688.  The image was stamped with a Stampendous stamp "Drift Gift", die cut and colored with Copic Markers.  A little sparkle added with sequins and stickles.
The inside of the card has a Inkadinkado stamped greeting.

I love this stamp from Art Impressions' "Wine Divas".  I sure have a lot of friends who enjoy their wine and would appreciate this card! The "Wine Divas" were colored with Copic Markers and enhanced with a little Stickles glitter and an adhesive gift package.   Stamped sentiments were also from the "Wine Divas" stamp set.

The inside of the card has two stamped sentiments.  One from "Wine Divas" and the other from Art Impressions.

All cards feature designer papers from We R Memory Keepers "Cake and Candles" collection.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my card creations.  I have to now get busy making more cards for more March birthdays for my brother-in-law, 2 nephews and several friends.  Also planning and preparing for a BIG birthday celebration for my Darling Husband's 80th birthday a week from Saturday....So much to do!!!

Loving London!

It's February 15th and time to duel with the Dueling Darling Divas and Dazzlers!  This month our hostesses are Kelly for team Divas and Jeanette for team Dazzlers.  They have chosen the theme "Something I Love"...a perfect theme for February!  So Kelly told us she chose to feature something she loved - Europe! and sent a kit that included stamped images of iconic London landmarks.  I love London too so it brought back wonderful memories as I created this card:

Included in the kit were:

Stamped Images:  My Favorite Things London Mouse (and die cuts)
Papers:  Hearts/travel paper from Hobby Lobby; Geometric paper "Travel" from American Crafts
Ribbons:  Hobby Lobby, red twine from The Baker's Twinery
Embellishments: Tree House Studio sequins, Sewology buttons, Paper Studio gems, Making Memories brads

I used the wonderful Geometric paper "Travel" from American Crafts, colored the die cut stamped images with my Copic Markers and added the twin and a several sequins for a little sparkle.  I layered in on black cardstock and attached in to a white cardstock base.

Celebrating a New Year with the Dueling Darlings!

January 15th and time to duel it with the Dueling Darling Diva and Dazzlers.  This month our team leaders Laura Jean for team Divas and Darlene for team Dazzlers have chosen the theme "New Year".  We were asked to be a little creative by incorporating an image using our own stamps along with the stamped calendar image they provided to create a New Year card.  I chose to go a little different with the theme and made a birthday card for my friend whose birthday falls on January 10th.   Included in the kit were some terrific patterned papers from Paper Studio "Mint to be Fab" foil pack, several stamped January 2018 calendar images, buttons and sequin strip, gold colored gem stones and black and white ribbon.  Here's my card:
I used some of my black cardstock and gold metallic cardstock. The layout is based on Splitcoaststampers sketch SC679.  Here's the inside of the card:

Having Halloween Fun with the Dueling Darlings!

The 15th of the month is "dueling" time for teams Divas and Dazzlers.  This month Tami for team Divas (my team) and Terry L. for the Dazzlers have chosen to celebrate Halloween.  It's October and the perfect time to create Halloween cards!  I'm a day late for the duel so here is my card:
Tami sent a kit chock full of great items to create a great Halloween card.  Here is what was in the kit:

Stamped images:  Red Rubber Designs "Delightfully Spooky" stamped in Memento tuxedo Black
Designer Paper:  Miscellaneous
Embellishments:  Miscellaneous vendors for orange and green ribbon, green/white baker's twine, orange button, black and orange rhinestones, orange sequins

The design of the card  was based on Freshly Made Sketch 308 (FMS308).
I used 3 of the 6 patterns of D.P., colored my cute "witch" with Copic markers and added Wink of Stella on the background for some spooky smoke.  I used the "Happy Halloween" sentiment and embellished it with the button and twine.  The orange and green ribbons were an added touch to the striped panel and black rhinestones on the eyes of three jack-o-lanterns were the finishing touch.

GIFTS OF GOD

Today, September 7th, was my turn to choose a theme for a papercrafting group, Crafters of Faith, on Splitcoaststampers. The theme is built on a Bible verse.  Here the inspiration and challenge I sent to my Faith-Filled Friends:

I have so many favorite verses; many from the Psalms, from Romans, Galatians and Philippians and went back and forth in choosing a verse for September. I finally settled on this verse that really sums up for me my faith:
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so no one can boast. For we our God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10

As September is the month both my sons were born in I like to remember that these boys were two of the greatest gifts God gave to me! (The meaning of their names is Gift of God) So I would like you to create a card celebrating a birth or another great gift God has bestowed on you.

Here is my card:
I used a long time birthday candle punch on metallic silver cardstock and placed on it a panel I sponged with a variety of inks: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "twisted citron", Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "lucky clover", Tim Holtz Distress Ink "peacock feathers", Memento "Nautical Blue on Recollections 110# white cardstock.  I then spritzed it and blended.  The Happy Birthday to You die is from Impress cards + crafts and I used silver glitter paper to die cut this sentiment.  A few sequins were added. The card base is Stampin' Up cardstock "Not Quite Navy".

On the inside of my card I stamped this sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set called "God's Blessings" with Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Mint to Green and added a few more sequins.

You can find many other cards created for this theme by going to Splitcoaststampers Crafters of Faith forum for a list of those participating.  Their creations may appear on their blogs or in their Splitcoaststampers gallery.

(I really need to find a way to update my blog to include a link to my fellow crafters!)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
