The 15th of the month is "dueling" time for teams Divas and Dazzlers. This month Tami for team Divas (my team) and Terry L. for the Dazzlers have chosen to celebrate Halloween. It's October and the perfect time to create Halloween cards! I'm a day late for the duel so here is my card:
Tami sent a kit chock full of great items to create a great Halloween card. Here is what was in the kit:
Stamped images: Red Rubber Designs "Delightfully Spooky" stamped in Memento tuxedo Black
Designer Paper: Miscellaneous
Embellishments: Miscellaneous vendors for orange and green ribbon, green/white baker's twine, orange button, black and orange rhinestones, orange sequins
The design of the card was based on Freshly Made Sketch 308 (FMS308).
I used 3 of the 6 patterns of D.P., colored my cute "witch" with Copic markers and added Wink of Stella on the background for some spooky smoke. I used the "Happy Halloween" sentiment and embellished it with the button and twine. The orange and green ribbons were an added touch to the striped panel and black rhinestones on the eyes of three jack-o-lanterns were the finishing touch.

GIFTS OF GOD
Today, September 7th, was my turn to choose a theme for a papercrafting group, Crafters of Faith, on Splitcoaststampers. The theme is built on a Bible verse. Here the inspiration and challenge I sent to my Faith-Filled Friends:
I have so many favorite verses; many from the Psalms, from Romans, Galatians and Philippians and went back and forth in choosing a verse for September. I finally settled on this verse that really sums up for me my faith:
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so no one can boast. For we our God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:8-10
As September is the month both my sons were born in I like to remember that these boys were two of the greatest gifts God gave to me! (The meaning of their names is Gift of God) So I would like you to create a card celebrating a birth or another great gift God has bestowed on you.
Here is my card:
On the inside of my card I stamped this sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set called "God's Blessings" with Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Mint to Green and added a few more sequins.
You can find many other cards created for this theme by going to Splitcoaststampers Crafters of Faith forum for a list of those participating. Their creations may appear on their blogs or in their Splitcoaststampers gallery.
(I really need to find a way to update my blog to include a link to my fellow crafters!)

Here is my card:
I used a long time birthday candle punch on metallic silver cardstock and placed on it a panel I sponged with a variety of inks: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "twisted citron", Tim Holtz Distress Oxide "lucky clover", Tim Holtz Distress Ink "peacock feathers", Memento "Nautical Blue on Recollections 110# white cardstock. I then spritzed it and blended. The Happy Birthday to You die is from Impress cards + crafts and I used silver glitter paper to die cut this sentiment. A few sequins were added. The card base is Stampin' Up cardstock "Not Quite Navy".
On the inside of my card I stamped this sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set called "God's Blessings" with Hero Arts Ombre Ink in Mint to Green and added a few more sequins.

It's a "Midsummer Night's Dream" for July with the Dueling Darlings
I'm just a wee bit late for the July Dueling Darlings duel. The duel is on the 15th of the month and 2 teams, the Divas and the Dazzlers, post their creations made from a kit sent by one of their team members on either their blogs or in the Splitcoaststampers gallery. This month the team leaders for July, Heather for the Divas and Paola for the Dazzlers, chose the theme "Midsummer Night's Dream", based on the play by Shakespeare. Because both Paola and Heather are from beautiful Canada they have asked us to incorporate a maple leaf somewhere on our cards in recognition that July 1, 2017 marks the 150th birthday of this great nation.
Here is what Heather sent the Divas:
Stamp: CC Designs "Cutie Butterfly"
Designer Papers: KaiserCraft Botanica Collection "Roots and Stem", KaiserCrat Mademoiselle Collection "Flutter", Jen Hadfield SimpleLife "Blue Meadow"
Various Ribbons and other embellishments
Here's my card:
I used this sketch from Splitcoaststampers;
I added a colored my fairy with Copic markers and added a little glitter to her wings.
I hope you take time to visit the cards posted by my Dueling Darling friends. You can find them here:

Dueling Darlings Times 4!!!!
March:
Laura Jean for team Diva and Darlene for team Dazzlers chose the theme "Would You Lie to Ride in My Beautiful Balloon" for the DDD March duel. LJ, sent this super fun kit with Images (some die-cut) from "Up, Up and Away" collection by My Favorite Things, great patterned paper from the "Life is Beautiful" collection by Fancy Pants, ribbon from Stampin' Up and a variety of other embellishments. Here is my card:
April:
For the month of April our team leaders are Kelly for the Divas and Jeanette for the Dazzlers. They've chosen the theme "You Are My Sunshine", so uplifting for rainy April days if you're not living in the Southwest USA! Her kit came with the darling stamped image Sunshine little pixie, bright and sunny patterned papers and cheerful, sparkly ribbons and gems for embellishments.
Here's my creation:
May:
This month it was my turn for team Diva and my partner Debbie for team Dazzler to create and card kit for our team members. We chose the theme "April Showers Bring May Flowers". I stamped several images for my team to choose from: "daisybella" by StampingBella and "Girl with Butterfly" by Sarah Kay and a several stamped sentiments. Included in the kit were a variety of patterned papers from several companies, ribbons, twine, buttons and lots of paper flowers. Here's a picture of what was in the kit:
And here is my card for May:
June:
Diva Barb and Dazzler Tracie came up with the theme "Roses" for the month of June. How appropriate as Rose is the traditional flower for June. Barb sent us Divas an absolutely fabulous kit with two different stamped rose images to choose from: "J Rose" by Embossing Arts and "Delicate Rose Stems" by Hero Arts. Also in the kit was this delicious Designer Series paper "Sweet Sorbet" by Stampin'...Love, love, love those yummy colors! Also in the kit were a plethora of embellishments: brads, buttons, ribbons, twine, pearls, and white paper flowers.

Giving Thanks with the Dueling Darlings
The 15th of the month is the time for our monthly duel between the Dueling Darling Divas and Dazzlers. Today is the 18th and I'm a few days late to the duel. This is getting to be a bad habit with me! This month our hostesses Carol for team Divas and Shelley for team Dazzlers chose the theme "Give Thanks"...So appropriate for this month of Thanksgiving! I'm on team D.D.Divas and received from Carol this wonderful card kit full of beautiful papers, lovely stamped images and sentiments and gorgeous embellishments:
I colored the image with Copic markers and used an Espresso Brown cardstock for background layers for both the image and the designer paper. I used this sketch for my layout:
- Papers: K & Co paper pack
- Stamped Images: Wheelbarrow and sentiment from Stampin' Up's "Grateful" set. Praying boy and girl from Stampendous. Second sentiment from Hobby Lobby
- Ribbon from Michaels, glitter brown paper tape is Recollections, and various other embellishments like twine, adhesive gems, and leaf stickers.
Here's my finished card:

This is the inside of the card.
We were asked to share what we are most thankful for. I'm thankful for so much:
- Jesus saving grace
- Family and Friends
- Good health
- Freedom to live the life I do
- A lovely home to shelter me
- Plentiful food to nourish me
- So many blessings that I do not have room to list them all!
